THE UPRISING ROOTS

The popular Uprising Roots Band recently released two singles that have found favour with North American and European radio stations all over the two continents as well as in Jamaica. The two singles, Brightest Light and Skyfiya were both written and produced by Uprising Band and recorded at their studios.
The two latest singles are true examples of reggae music complete with rustic, rhythmic beats and uplifting, and righteous lyrics. The singles are being received well in Reggae-loving markets around the world, which should come as no surprise.
Displaying their well-known versatility on the Brightest Light and Skyfiya, this brings to three the amount of singles the band has released and according to the band’s manager Darren Hamilton, “there’s much more to come”. Their first single, Know Yourself (released on the Musik For Life riddim), is also well known locally and in those regions.
“From the very first chord, one can tell the two songs are true representations of the genre of reggae, and while The Uprising Band does well, they are much more than a ‘reggae’ band,” Hamilton said.
“The Uprising Band is a complement of a talented set of musicians, who are really very much in love with the many ways they can please the ear, uplift the mind, and soothe the soul with their music and creativity. These two new singles are a representation of that love for music,” he added.
It is true that the band effortlessly channels a remarkable kind of energy and meld together instruments and vocals to stamp their own style on whatever project they undertake and this makes their music especially memorable.
Hamilton extolled these virtues, saying that the six-piece band is “simply and beautifully multifaceted”. He continued the band would be doing much more recordings into 2010, and is getting ready to release their long awaited and much anticipated debut album later this year, giving reggae music lovers “more of the same from The Uprising Band… which is never ever the same”.
“The intent of the music is to uplift people. Our music is really to revitalise souls, to energise essences, to invigorate minds and to provide some form of comfort, hope, and inspiration to listeners. That’s what music is about, and that’s what The Uprising  Roots Band intends to do”.
